I've been breeding this family of Sions since 1996. "Mr. Maryland" was bred by John Celia of Silver Springs, MD. He along with three of his relatives has become the foundation of my family of Sions . He is a descendant of Chas. Heitzman's "Helen" of 1946. Everyone has their own image of the ideal racing pigeon. The feather texture, body and spirit of these Maryland Sions represent mine!
Lately I've acquired a few birds from Dr. Gil Rinard of Dundee, OR. The Rinard birds have an impressive race record with many 500- 600 mile day bird winners. I've used these birds to blend with my Maryland family. Click the tab above to see more of my Sion family.
The 520x527 pair is the foundation of my Steir family. I've been breeding this De Klak based family since 1998. They are tightly line bred. Every branch of their pedigree goes back to one pair GFL 150 "Ganus Steir" and GFL 147. Contrary to the stereotype these "speed birds" have proven their ability to win out to 500 miles. I've kept them pure and they have consistantly bred winners. Click the tab above to see more of this family.
My Black Sheep family is a work in progress. Predominantly Sion, these birds are not related to any of the existing black families out there. My goal is to develope my own family of black pigeons that have the build and spirit of a Sion but more importantly a black pigeon that will win races.
